Hello to my tribe

I am the most introverted extrovert you will meet. My friends think I am crazy, silly and hell lot of fun when pushed out of the captivating comfort of my nest. Don’t get me wrong I love to go out, meet people and party, but right before the event, my mind starts throwing up excuses to skip the party and I want to hide deep under my rabbit hole. Sometimes, I do. Other times, I dress up and show up.

But again, I love people. I love meeting them, observing them, talking to them and listening to what they say and how they say it.

My whole childhood went in moving from one place to the other, changing one school after another and that taught me to face the “new & unknown” with a smile. Now that I am an expat wife, this upbringing comes handy. I appreciate my “now”. I hold onto my ” present” and I look forward to making connections who will become my friends for now and who knows, may be later.

How do you think I find these people, when I live in my nest most of the time, taking care of my little birdy oblivious of the real world out there??

vibes-quotes

I look around for cool moms at the school, my building’s park, plaza & gardens, online in mommy groups, even in grocery stores. I truly believe in the power of good vibes. In my opinion, we all resonate with a certain frequency, much like the invisible radio waves. Someone out there, who has the receiver to catch and admire our frequency gets added to our tribe, almost organically. Think about the last 3 people you just socially connected with. I bet you knew nothing about them, but you felt engaged. You liked, what you saw, what you felt. Your vibes matched.

So stay alert. Keep your radar sharp. Look at people when you look at them. Smile!!!!!
Smile at that stranger. You never know, that stranger could be the friend that is sent to fill the gap in your heart. Be nice and increase your tribe

  1. I\’m very similar to you. It takes a lot for me to go to an event, but once I\’m there, I really enjoy it. It\’s also hard for me to meet new people, but I\’m really trying with the parents at my son\’s school.

    1. The struggle is real. So glad to hear from you..

  2. Hi! I believe we are a lot alike-I was a pleasure reading about you, and welcome to the tribe!

    1. Wow! I am always looking forward to connecting with the like minded. Yay! Tribe

  3. Great post! I\’m always the shy quiet lady in the room until you speak to me. Lol then I open up and never quit talking. I\’m fun and crazy, at least I think so, I\’m just not myself around people I don\’t know.

  4. I think we all have a lot more in common than we realize! I have always been an extreme extrovert, but Motherhood has made me clam up a bit. Sometimes it\’s easier to stay in the comfort of your own home than go out \”there\” and risk the tantrums or just talking to other humans when you haven\’t spoken anything but baby babble for days on end!

    1. I couldn\’t have said it better. You are right

I\’m such an introvert I have a hard time with any social interaction. I\’m kind of clumsy socially even with most people I know. I try though.

    1. I always thought I was an extrovert, but I would surprisingly clamp up in social interaction at times and dream about going home. It\’s weird

  6. Growing up zee

I love finding random people that I have a connection with! Some people are just on your wavelength!

    1. I agree. And that\’s why I love blogging. People I connect with, find me reading my words. Like you.

I\’m very similar, I love meeting people and doing fun things, but it always sounds more fun to stay home haha. I\’ve moved a lot too, it really forces you out of your comfort zone to meet new people!

    1. Hi Stef, thanks for dropping in and glad to know you.. Will follow you to keep in touch. Cheers!
